Read this before you trade on anything here
ScalperSense is a market-data site. It takes figures NSE and BSE publish and does arithmetic on them. It is not a broker, not an adviser, and not a research house — and several things it shows look enough like opinions that it's worth being precise about what they actually are.
Nothing on this site is investment advice. We are not registered with SEBI as an Investment Adviser or as a Research Analyst, and nothing here is a recommendation, solicitation or offer to buy or sell any security, derivative or other instrument. Every decision you make with it is yours alone.
What the verdicts really are
Several pages print something that reads like a judgement. In every case it is a fixed formula applied to today's numbers — not a forecast, and not the output of a strategy anyone has tested against history:
- OI Buildup Bias on the option chain aggregates each near-ATM strike's change in open interest into "bullish" or "bearish". That is a description of positioning that has already happened, not a prediction of where price goes next.
- Scalper Pro prints entry, stop and target levels with a conviction figure. Those come from rules about VWAP, the opening range and the live chain. The conviction number is the rules agreeing with each other — it is not a probability of profit, and it is not backtested.
- Top Picks ranks stocks by past returns, momentum and volume. Past performance does not indicate future results.
- Screener verdicts, IPO demand reads and the Highlights summary are sentences generated from the same public data shown beside them. No human analyst reviews them.
- Max pain, expected move, PCR, IV rank and the Greeks are standard calculations. They depend on inputs from the exchange being correct and on model assumptions — Black-Scholes Greeks, for instance, assume things about volatility that real markets routinely violate.
Where the data comes from, and how stale it is
Figures are fetched from the public feeds of NSE and BSE, with global cues, corporate events and headlines from other public sources. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a licensed distributor for any of them. Their marks belong to them.
Nothing here is a real-time feed. Pages are cached for anywhere between about twenty seconds and half an hour depending on how fast the underlying data actually changes, and upstream sources sometimes rate-limit us or go down, in which case you may be looking at the last good copy. There is no guarantee any number is current, complete or accurate. Verify against your broker or the exchange before acting.
The risk you are taking
Trading in equities, and especially in futures and options, carries substantial risk of loss. Derivatives are leveraged: losses can exceed the amount you put in. SEBI's own studies of individual traders in the equity derivatives segment have repeatedly found that the large majority lose money.
Intraday scalping — what this site's flagship feature is built for — concentrates that risk. Do not trade with money you cannot afford to lose, and consider taking advice from a SEBI-registered professional who knows your circumstances.
