Ranking built after the close, 24-Aug-2026 · updates live in your browser

Rankings are derived from NSE historical price, volume & delivery data and are for informational purposes only — not investment advice. Do your own research.

What this ranking is, and how far to trust it

A once-a-day pass over the NSE universe, built after the close from roughly 400 sessions of price history per symbol. It is arithmetic on past prices, published in full, and it is worth being precise about what that can and cannot do.

What is being measured

Three things, per stock. Trend — where price sits relative to its own moving averages and whether those are rising. Momentum — the rate of change over several lookbacks, so a stock that has been climbing steadily scores differently from one that gapped once and went sideways. Volume — whether the move happened on participation or on nothing.

The three are combined into one score and the universe is sorted by it. There is no earnings data in this, no valuation, no news, and no judgement applied afterwards. It ranks what has already happened, on price and volume alone.

Why a momentum ranking is not a buy list

Everything at the top of this list has already gone up. That is what put it there. Momentum has a genuine research history behind it — the tendency of recent winners to keep winning over intermediate horizons is one of the more durable findings in finance — but the effect is a statistical tendency across a whole portfolio over months, not a property of any individual name over any individual week.

It also reverses, sharply and without warning, and momentum's worst drawdowns arrive precisely at turning points, when the previous winners unwind together. A ranking like this is at its most confident immediately before it is least useful.

How to actually use it

As a filter, not a conclusion. It narrows a thousand-symbol universe down to something a person can look at, and everything after that is your work: check the screener for what the stock's technicals and delivery volumes look like up close, check the calendar for a results date that could gap it, and check whether the move traces to something real.

The list is rebuilt once, after the close, from settled end-of-day data. It does not update through the session, and a stock ranked highly last night can be down sharply by eleven this morning on news the ranking could not have seen.
